Per ovviare al primo problema, è necessario usare il balsamo labbra giusto. Io ne ho trovati tre che funzionano e hanno all’incirca lo stesso prezzo – vediamo nel dettaglio!

🌸 Lanolips 101 Ointment Multipurpose Superbalm (15gr/0.52 oz.), anch’esso completamente inodore e incolore, ha più la consistenza di una pomata; il suo ingrediente principale sono la lanolina australiana e neozelandese, una miscela di grasso derivante dalla pelle delle pecore. Può essere usato anche su altre parti del corpo. L’ho pagato 13,90 euro da Sephora.

🇬🇧 Sugar Scrub Lip Scrub has a super pretty light blue color and smells of cotton candy. Its main ingredient is sugar cane crystals, enriched with chamomile, grapefruit, tomato and lemon balm extract which is a bit thick and sticky but very comforting for dry lips. I’ve only used it a couple of times but already noticed how it gently exfoliates skin, removing dead skin cells while leaving lips soft and even. Last but not least, the product was not tested on animals and its mainly made of natural ingredients!

Ultimo ma non meno importante, il prodotto non è stato testato su animali ed è principalmente fatta di ingredienti naturali!

It’s a super comforting balm comes in different fragrances: Berry, Grapefruit, Vanilla, Mint-Choco and Apple Lime. I like applying it a couple of nights per week, as well as a few minutes before applying lipstick.

🇬🇧 I’ve had acne for 5 years straight and have treated Poly-Cystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) for 3 years (until January 2020). The condition is now gone but I still get a lot of pimples, especially when I ovulate and around one week before my period (like most people!) 😅 I noticed I was starting getting more pimples around March 2020; after a picture skin check (damn you Coronavirus!) by a dermatologist, I got prescribed Epiduo. I wasn’t unfamiliar with it as used to treat my acne with it when I was 18 (before finding out that I was suffering from PCOS).
🇮🇹 Ho avuto l’acne per 5 anni e ho curato la sindrome dell’ovaio policistico per 3 anni (fino a gennaio 2020). La malattia non c’è più, ma ho ancora un sacco di brufoli, soprattutto durante l’ovulazione e circa una settimana prima del ciclo (come la maggior parte delle persone!) Ho notato che stavo iniziando ad avere più brufoli intorno a marzo 2020; dopo un controllo della pelle a distanza (maledetto Coronavirus!) mi è stato prescritto Epiduo, con cui avevo già familiarità visto che ho provato a curare la mia acne quando avevo 18 anni (prima di scoprire che avevo l’ovaio policistico).
🇬🇧 What is Epiduo? This medication is a combination of adapalene (a retinoid a.k.a Vitamin A, which promotes skin renewal) and benzoyl peroxide (an antibiotic and skin-peeling agent). It’s a gel which comes in a pump dispenser, which makes its application much easier: you basically need one pump per application ONLY on the affected area! This is how my skin looked a few days after starting the treatment:

After the first week, my skin got oversensitive and started flaking and kept doing that until the dermatologist told me to apply Epiduo twice a week instead of three times a week. 🇬🇧 This is NuvaRing, a vaginal ring which has the same effectiveness as the contraceptive pill if used correctly. It is plastic, see-through and flexible. I used it for two full years. Please keep in mind that it can be prescribed only to women who already had intercourse and that, of course, does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.
How does it work? NuvaRing is used in a 4-week cycle. You need to insert NuvaRing in the vagina and keep it in place for 3 weeks (21 days) – an applicator is sold separately, if you need help with inserting it. Regularly check that NuvaRing is in your vagina (for example, before and after intercourse) to ensure that you are protected from pregnancy. Remove the NuvaRing for a 1-week break (7 days). During the 1-week break (7 days), you will usually have your period.
What’s the difference with the contraceptive pill? According to my gynecologist, NuvaRing is just as effective as a pill but has less side effects such as less bloating; this is because no other organs are involved – such as the liver. In the case of NuvaRing, the hormones are absorbed through the walls of the vagina.
How does NuvaRing protect from getting pregnant? It stops your ovaries from releasing an egg (ovulation) and it also makes the mucus in the cervix thicker so that sperm can’t get into the uterus.

🇬🇧 My experience: my gynecologist let me stop using NuvaRing since I’d get very bad, non-stop migraine for the whole length of my period. It’s been 3 weeks and 4 days since I removed NuvaRing for the last time. Since then, my last period was the same as the one I’d have after removing NuvaRing – very little menstrual flow for 4 days; then, I got a lot of small bumps on my right jaw that disappeared after a week or so. Today I’m just one week away from my next period and my skin is doing pretty well except for a few new bumps on my left jaw; also, I’m getting used to the pain of ovulating again. My gynecologist prescribed me Inositol twice a day for three months starting from my first NuvaRing-free day. Inositol is good to prevent PCOS to happen again – I think it’s prescribed to low-risk cases.

So why don’t we close this circle with a review of a hair care product I’ll probably repurchase? This is because one of the several resolutions I’ve made for this year is to finally get a short haircut, which I’ve never considered doing before because of two main reasons: first, the fear of my face looking even chubbier – which is supposed to be solved in the near future by exercising and dieting; second, my thin hair which might look even flatter. 🇬🇧 MY EXPERIENCE: I’ve been using this hair serum for the past two months. Although the brand suggests the product should be used daily on dry, clean hair, I’d rather apply it on my whole scalp the night before the day I’d wash my hair; this choice was made because this serum made my hair look oily but, since it’s a leave-on treatment, I couldn’t use it just one hour before washing my hair. I use it twice a week; that’s probably why I still haven’t run out of my first bottle. Anyhow, I noticed a big improvement: my hair is a bit thicker and fuller, and I noticed the appearance of a lot of baby hair so I’m confident my scalp will get denser soon!

Ho scelto di fare così perché questo siero fa sembrare i miei capelli oleosi ma, visto che il trattamento non prevede il risciacquo, non ha senso applicarlo solo un’ora prima del lavaggio. Lo uso due volte a settimana, per questo probabilmente non ho ancora finito la prima bottiglia. In ogni caso, ho notato un grande miglioramento: i miei capelli sono un po’ più spessi e voluminosi, o ho notato che stanno crescendo tanti baby hair, quindi sono sicura che il mio cuoio capelluto diventerà presto più denso!

🇮🇹 Il mio primo post del 2020 è una sorta di sequel del mio ultimo post del 2019, Review – Arencia Go Green Hair Shampoo Bar 🧖🏼;questa volta parleremo di ciò che accade dopo lo shampoo.Quello che stavo cercando prima di comprare i prodotti che recensirò era qualcosa che ammorbidisse le mie punte secche e qualcosa che dasse del volume ai miei capelli piatti senza renderli appiccicosi – come la maggior parte delle lacche di bassa qualità fa. In più, entrambi hanno un ottimo profumo!
🇬🇧 Innisfree Camellia Essential Hair Oil Serum is an after-shampoo oil specifically designed for damaged hair, as the rest of Innisfree’s Camellia line. Camellia is a flower which has been used by Asian women to keep their hair strong and soft for centuries. It comes in a 100 ml plastic bottle and mid-to-long hair just need 5 pumps for the whole length – roots excluded. I would either apply it on my hair before blowing my hair dry or after, applying it on my ends for a shiny effect.

La camellia è un fiore che è stato utilizzato dalle donne asiatiche per mantenere i capelli forti e morbidi per secoli. La confezione è in plastica in formato da 100 ml e i capelli medio-lunghi hanno bisogno solo di 5 erogazioni per tutta la lunghezza – radici escluse. Lo applico sui miei capelli prima di asciugarli o dopo, applicandolo sulle punte per dare loro lucentezza.
🇬🇧 Ouai Texturizing Hair Spray is a halfway between a dry shampoo and a hair spray, absorbing excess sebum from the scalp like a dry shampoo while building volume and texture like a hair spray. I bought the travel size to give it a try, just I’ve already ordered the full size because it’s the perfect product for my combination hair: I hold the can 15 cm from my hair and mist it, giving it more volume and the effect lasts until I wash my hair again; also, my hair lasts three days as fully clean.
🇮🇹 Ouai Texturizing Hair Spray è a metà strada tra uno shampoo secco e uno spray per capelli: assorbe l’eccesso di sebo dal cuoio capelluto come uno shampoo secco mentre dona volume e consistenza come una lacca per capelli. Ho comprato il formato da viaggio per provarlo, ma ho già ordinato la confezione standard perché è il prodotto perfetto per i miei capelli misti: dopo averlo applicato a 15 cm di distanza, i miei capelli hanno più volume e l’effetto dura fino a quando non mi lavo di nuovo i capelli; inoltre, i miei capelli durano tre giorni completamente puliti.

Check out my post for more info on Korean history 😉) gave me the chance to try this Arencia shampoo bar. As you might know, I’m trying to convert to a plastic-free lifestyle; I’m aware that it’s not 100% possible when buying personal care products, that’s why I opt for plastic-free products whenever I can. This said, you should also know that this is not the first time I use a shampoo bar, but as my too sensitive scalp didn’t enjoy it, I decided to stick to shampoos I could buy in pharmacies. The brand produces three different kind of shampoos: Go Green Hair, suitable for oily hair and dandruff-prone scalp; Wild Fig, suitable for damaged and dyed hair; Sunny Baby, suitable for sensitive scalp. The shampoo bar I got to try is Go Green Hair, made with Boseong green tea, camellia oil, and tea tree oil. Green tea and tea tree are well-known for their anti-inflammatory and calming properties, which clean dandruff gently and soothe the scalp; camellia oil works wonders for dry hair, making it soft and rich. The brand claims that this 80-grams-heavy shampoo bar packs the equivalent of 5 bottles of shampoo.

My hair is type 1A (check out this guide if you don’t know what I’m talking about) and combination, which means I have an oily and dandruff-prone scalp and dry ends: I can use conditioner or hair oil only on my ends and avoid them on my scalp at all costs, because they’d make it look oily and dirty even after only a few hours. I expected a lot from this shampoo bar and it didn’t disappoint: my hair looks healthier, cleaner and softer – and I didn’t even need to apply hair oil on my ends! I miei capelli sono di tipo 1A (consultate questa guida se non sapete di cosa sto parlando) e misti, il che significa che ho un cuoio capelluto oleoso e con forfora e punte secche: posso usare il balsamo o l’olio per capelli solo sulle mie punte ed evitare di usarli sul mio cuoio capelluto a tutti i costi, perché lo farebbero sembrare oleoso e sporco anche dopo solo poche ore.Avevo grandi aspettative da questo shampoo solido e non mi ha deluso: i miei capelli sembrano più sani, più puliti e più morbidi – e non ho nemmeno bisogno di applicare l’olio per capelli sulle mie punte! 🇬🇧 Kiehl’s Ginger Leaf & Hibiscus Firming Mask is an anti-age overnight mask that can be used up to 5 times a week. The brand claims that the product was formulated with Hibiscus because this flower is known to close during the night to preserve its nectar, delivering a lasting soothing and firming effect to one’s skin. Ginger leaf was chosen for the same reason. It has a nice creamy and velvety texture – similar to ricotta cheese – and a heavenly fragrance.

Il marchio sostiene che il prodotto è stato formulato con Ibisco poiché questo fiore è conosciuto in natura per socchiudere i petali per preservare il suo nettare, offrendo un effetto lenitivo e rassodante per la pelle duraturo. Le foglie di zenzero sono state scelte per lo stesso motivo. Ha una bella consistenza cremosa e vellutata – simile alla ricotta – e una fragranza paradisiaca.
🇬🇧 Talking about my experience, I actually started using this mask between February and March but I didn’t commit too much to applying it regularly as I had other sleeping masks to test. So I decided to start applying it every night instead of my moisturizer in December (it lasts 12 months since the first day it has been opened) and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the results! Every morning after, my skin looks plumper and feels smoother and the appearance of my big fine line on my forehead has improved a lot!

Così, da dicembre, ho deciso di iniziare ad applicarla ogni notte al posto della mia crema idratante (dura 12 mesi dal primo giorno in cui è stato aperta) e non potrei essere più soddisfatta dei risultati!Ogni mattina seguente, la mia pelle sembra rimpolpata e più liscia e l’aspetto della grande ruga sulla fronte è migliorata molto!
