Review – Chanel Rouge Coco Ultra Hydrating Lip Colour 💄

🇬🇧 A couple of weeks ago I started a poll on my Instagram account through which I asked my dear followers and fellow beauty reviewers what they prefer when reading a review about lipsticks. 12 out of 15 participants said they enjoy reading such reviews; out of 12 participants, 7 of them stated that they prefer such reviews to be short while 5 of them want to read all the details one could possibly provide them. When asked what kind of details they expect to find in a lipstick review, a few participants answered as follows: texture; longevity (in different kinds of situations – general lasting, after eating and/or drinking and such); scent (or lack thereof); swatches. Today, as feedback is extremely important to me, I’ll try to meet these participants’ expectations as much as I can 😁

🇮🇹 Un paio di settimane fa ho iniziato un sondaggio sul mio profilo Instagram dove ho chiesto ai miei cari followers e compagni di recensioni cosa preferissero leggere nelle recensioni di rossetti. A 12 partecipanti su 15 piacere leggere questo genere di recensioni; su 12 partecipanti, 7 di loro hanno dichiarato di preferire delle recensioni corte mentre 5 di loro preferiscono leggere più dettagli possibili. Quando è stato chiesto loro di specificare quali fossero i dettagli che proprio non possono mancare, alcuni partecipanti hanno risposto come segue: finish; durata (in base a più situazioni, dal generale a dopo aver mangiato e/o bevuto e così via); profumo (o assenza di esso); resa del colore sulla pelle. Oggi, visto che il feedback è molto importante per me, cercherò il più possibile di accontentare le aspettative di questi partecipanti 😁

🇬🇧 Today’s review is about Marlène (458), a lipstick coming from the iconic Chanel lipstick 24-piece line “Rouge Coco”. As its name suggests, its formula is supposed to be more hydrating and comfortable than the original one. The packaging has the classic Chanel design and it’s made of black and gold aluminum that slides and clicks smoothly. You can see the difference on how the colour looks when exposed to natural sunlight – there’s some glitter shining – and when not in the pictures above.

Come si evince dal nome, la formula dovrebbe essere più idratante e confortevole di quella originale. Il packaging ha il classico design Chanel ed è fatto di alluminio nero e oro che scorre e fa click fluidamente. Nelle foto sopra potete vedere la resa del colore quando è esposto alla luce solare (li vedete i brillantini?) e quando no.

🇬🇧 In these pictures I’m showing how this colour looks on my skin. I think it stays quite true to how the colour looks from the stick and has a shimmer MLBB (My Lips But Better) effect. It’s a bit sticky – like a lip gloss – but it feels quite comfortable on the lips.

🇮🇹 In queste foto mostro come il colore rende sulla mia pelle. Credo che rimanga abbastanza fedele a quello dello stick e ha un effetto shimmer e MLBB (My Lips But Better – Le mie labbra ma meglio). È un po’ appiccicoso (come un lucida labbra) ma abbastanza confortevole.

🇬🇧 How can I describe Chanel’s lipsticks scent? I can tell that it didn’t change much from the scent these lipsticks used to have in the 90s – thank you mum for making me experience that! It reminds me the smell of fresh roses, a scent that immediately makes everyone feel more chic.

🇮🇹 Come posso descrivere la fragranza dei rossetti Chanel? Posso dire con certezza che non è cambiata molto rispetto a quella che questi rossetti avevano negli anni 90 (grazie mamma per avermelo fatto provare!). Mi ricorda il profumo delle rose fresche, una fragranza che fa sentire tutti subito più chic.

🇬🇧 I don’t know how to feel about how little this lipstick lasts. Be it Marlène’s too nude-ish colour or just the formula – which might contain too many natural oils interfering with the concentration of the colour itself. That said, it definitely doesn’t last after eating and/or drinking, and you might need to touch it up during the day.

🇮🇹 Non so come prendere la poca durata di questo rossetto. Potrebbe essere il colore troppo nude di Marlène o semplicemente la formula, che magari contiene troppi olii naturali che interferiscono con la concentrazione del colore. Detto questo, non dura decisamente dopo aver mangiato e/o bevuto, e c’è bisogno di ripassarlo durante il giorno.

Review – dear, Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Tencel Sheet Mask 🍚

🇬🇧 Do you guys ever mask before (or after) flying? I do it every single night before a flight – my skin asks me for it, it just can’t stand stale air. This time, since I was about to deal with two flights in one day, I wanted to try a mask which is quite famous for its soothing power.

🇮🇹 Usate mai le maschere prima (o dopo) di volare? Io lo faccio tutte le sere prima di un volo (la mia pelle me lo chiede, non sopporta proprio l’aria viziata). Questa volta, visto che avrei avuto a che fare con due voli in un giorno, ho voluto provare una maschera molto famosa per il suo potere lenitivo.

🇬🇧 Just like its twin sister mask Midnight Blue Calming Sheet Mask, this mask is a 2 piece. However, even though the sheet is way thinner and fits a bit weirdly compared to the black one, it still does its job perfectly: made of 100% cotton and tencel (eucalyptus and beech tree), it’s perfect for sensitive skin and for delivering its serum effectively. Also, Aloe, Centella Asiatica and Ceramides are the main ingredients of its lightweight and non-sticky serum, which made my skin hydrated and soothed. I’ll leave the complete list of ingredients below.

🇮🇹 Come la sua sorella gemella Midnight Blue Calming Sheet Mask, questa maschera è una due pezzi. D’altra parte, anche se il tessuto è molto più sottile e ha una “vestibilità” un po’ strana rispetto a quella nera, fa comunque benissimo il suo lavoro: fatta al 100% di cotone e tencel/lyocell (eucalipto e faggio), è perfetta per le pelli sensibili e per assorbire il siero in modo ottimale. Inoltre, l’aloe, la centella asiatica e le ceramidi sono gli ingredienti principali di questo siero leggero e non appiccicoso, e ha reso la mia pelle idratata e lenita. Review – Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Set 🧪

🇬🇧 I’ve been willing to review this set for a while now. I still remember when I bumped into its first ad on Instagram, in which Some By Mi claimed the toner could help you to get rid of acne in 30 days. Then they decided to release a whole set – cleansing bar, toner, serum and cream. I first decided to buy the trial set; later, I went for the full size (except for the cleansing bar, which I decided not to repurchase in its full size).

Before getting deeper into the review, let me point out what AHA, BHA and PHA are. I found a lot of useful information on Skin City.

AHA

AHA, or Alpha Hydroxy Acids are a group of acids that are naturally found in fruit, milk, sugarcane etc. Glycolic acid is the most powerful. It helps to stimulate our skins’ cell regeneration process, which is perfect for mature skin because the cell renewal process is slower than in more youthful skin. This exfoliating effect helps to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, as well as work on pigmentation deep within the skin. It also works well on dry skin (lactic acid helps to lock moisture into your skin). Mandelic acid is also a part of this group, and with its anti inflammatory properties it makes it great for more sensitive skin or people suffering with acne.

BHA

BHA, or Beta Hydroxy Acids are a group of acids, and within skin care we predominantly use salicylic acid. This acid naturally occurs in the white willow tree (salix alba) and contains anti inflammatory properties. Salicylic acid works its way deep into the pores and dissolves sebum, which in turn improves the condition of the pores. Mature skin with fine lines, wrinkles and sun damage can also benefit from BHA.

PHA

PHA, or Poly Hydroxy Acids are a group of acids that work their magic slowly, which is great for sensitive skin that is prone to irritation and redness which can come from using AHA. PHA has a larger molecular structure than AHA, which means it penetrates the skin more slowly and therefore doesn’t exfoliate as powerfully as acids with a smaller molecular structure. These mild acids are perfect for all types of sensitive and/or dry skin conditions such as eczema or rosacea. Mature skin can also benefit from the antioxidant properties which protect the skin’s’ collagen from breaking down. Examples of PHA in the skin care world are gluconolactone and lactobionic acid.

Last but not least, remember that wearing sunscreen after using acids is ESSENTIAL! 💪🏻

🇮🇹 Era da un po’ che volevo recensire questo set. Ricordo ancora quando mi sono imbattuta nella prima inserzione su Instagram, dove Some By Mi sosteneva che il tonico poteva aiutare a liberarsi dell’acne in 30 giorni. Successivamente hai deciso di rilasciare un set completo – saponetta detergente, tonico, siero e crema. All’inizio ho deciso di comprare il set di prova; dopo, sono passata all’edizione intera (ad esclusione della saponetta, che ho deciso di non ricomprare).

Prima di addentrarci nella recensione, vorrei chiarire cosa sono AHA, BHA e PHA. Ho trovato molte informazioni utili su Skin City.

AHA

AHA o Alpha Hydroxy Acids sono un gruppo di acidi che si trova naturalmente in frutta, latte, canna da zucchero ecc. L’acido Glicolico è il più potente. Serve a stimolare il nostro processo di rigenerazione cellulare, molto utile per le pelli mature che hanno un processo di rigenerazione più lento rispetto alle pelli giovani. Questo effetto esfoliante è utile per ammorbidire la pelle e ridurre le linee sottili e le rughe, ma anche per trattare l’iperpigmentazione andando ad agire in profondità. Funziona molto bene anche sulla pelle secca (l’acido lattico serve a mantenere la pelle idratata). Anche l’acido mandelico fa parte di questo gruppo, ed è indicato per le pelli sensibili o con acne visto le sue proprietà anti infiammatorie.

BHA

BHA o Beta Hydroxy Acids sono un gruppo di acidi, il più famoso dei quali in materia di cura delle pelle è l’acido salicilico. Questo acido si trova naturalmente nel salice bianco (salix alba) e ha proprietà anti infiammatorie. L’acido salicilico arriva in profondità nei pori e scioglie il sebo, migliorando lo stato dei pori stessi. Anche le pelli mature con linee sottili, rughe e ustioni possono trarre beneficio dagli BHA.

PHA

PHA o Poly Hydroxy Acids sono un gruppo di acidi che agisce lentamente, perfetto per le pelli sensibili che possono arrossarsi ed irritarsi con altri acidi come i AHA. I PHA hanno una struttura molecolare maggiore rispetto ai AHA, il che significa che penetra la pelle più lentamente ed esfolia in misura minore rispetto agli acidi con una struttura molecolare minore. Questi acidi più leggeri sono perfetti per alcuni tipi di pelle quali sensibile e secca e per malattie correlate ad esse, come eczema e rosacea. Anche le pelli mature possono beneficiare delle proprietà antiossidanti che proteggono dalla riduzione di collagene. Esempi di PHA usati per la cura della pelle sono is gluconolattone e acido lattobionico.

Ultimo ma non per importanza, ricordate che mettere la crema solare dopo aver usato degli acidi è ESSENZIALE 💪🏻

🇬🇧 1st step – AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner (150ml). This toner is made of citric (AHA), salicylic (BHA) and lactobionic (PHA) acids, 2% niacinamide (whitening) and 1% tea tree extract (anti-inflammatory). The texture is very watery so I feel quite comfortable patting it directly on my face.

🇮🇹 1° step – AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner (150ml). Questo tonico è composto da acido citrico (AHA), salicilico (BHA) e lattobionico (PHA), 2% di niacinamide (sbiancante) e 1% di estratto di tea tree (anti infiammatorio). La consistenza è molto acquosa quindi mi trovo bene a picchiettarlo direttamente sul viso.

🇬🇧 2nd step – AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Serum (50ml). This serum is made of citric (AHA), glycolic (AHA), lactic (AHA), malic (AHA-BHA), pyruvic (AHA), tartaric (AHA) and lactobionic (PHA) acids, 1% tea tree extract (anti-inflammatory) and 14.5% centella asiatica (calming). As you can see from the picture below, its look shiny – and frankly speaking, it feels kinds greasy on the skin. However, if used in the right amount, it makes the skin glow without making it look oily.

🇮🇹 2° step – AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Serum (50ml). Questo siero è composto da acido citrico (AHA), glicolico (AHA), lattico (AHA), malico (AHA-BHA), piruvico (AHA), tartarico (AHA) e lattobionico (PHA), 1% di estratto di tea tree (anti infiammatorio) e 14.5% di centella asiatica (calmante). Come si vede dall’immagine qui sotto, sembra lucida – e francamente parlando, sembra oleoso sulla pelle. Tuttavia, se usato nella giusta quantità, rende la pelle luminosa senza farla sembrare grassa.

🇬🇧 3rd step – AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Cream (50ml). This cream is made of citric (AHA) and lactobionic (PHA) acids, 1% tea tree extract (anti-inflammatory) and 70% centella asiatica (calming). The texture is halfway between jelly and creamy, so it doesn’t feel sticky (which is usually how products for combo/oily skin feel and I HATE IT) and dries instantly without drying up the skin.

🇮🇹 3° step – AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Cream (50ml). Questa crema è costituito da acido citrico (AHA) e lattiobionico (PHA), 1% di estratto di tea tree (anti infiammatorio) e 70% di centella asiatica (calmante). La consistenza è a metà strada tra gelatinoso e cremoso, quindi non è appiccicoso (che è la solita sensazione data dai prodotti per pelle mista/grassa sentire e LO ODIO) e si asciuga immediatamente senza seccare la pelle.

🔥 Review – Caolion Hot & Cool Pore Pack Duo ❄️

🇬🇧 Hello everyone! For today’s review I’m going to try to be as detailed as possibile. I’ll show you the whole “journey” through my first try of the Hot & Cool Pore Foam Cleanser Duo by Korean brand Caolion, available on Sephora. First of all, here’s my “I’ve just woke up” face and everything that comes with it: big pores and dull skin.

🇮🇹 Ciao a tutti! Per la recensione di oggi cercherò di essere il più dettagliata possibile. Vi mostrerò l’intero “viaggio” alla mia prima prova del Hot & Cool Pore Pack Duo del brand coreano Caolion, disponibile da Sephora. Per iniziare, ecco la mia faccia da “Mi sono appena svegliata” e tutto ciò che ne segue: pori dilatati e pelle spenta.

🇬🇧 1st step – Pore Purifying Steaming Pack (20 gr/0.7 oz). The “Hot” part consists of a scrub with gentle exfoliating black pearls, which opens and deeply cleanses pores; the hot feeling hits almost immediately but it gets milder pretty quickly as well. I kept it for 10 minutes. Since I mostly scrubbed my T-Zone, the steaming effect made my face a little flushed.

🇮🇹 1° step – Pore Purifying Steaming Pack (20 gr/0.7 oz). La parte “Calda” è costituita da uno scrub con delicate perle nere esfolianti, che aprono e puliscono i pori in profondità; la sensazione di calore colpisce quasi immediatamente, ma si attutisce un po’ altrettanto rapidamente. L’ho tenuta per 10 minuti. Dato che ho insistito sulla mia zona T, la faccia si è arrossata per l’effetto riscaldante.

🇬🇧 2nd step – Pore original pack (30 gr/1.05oz). The “Cold” part consists of white clay a.k.a. Kaolin, the gentlest kind of clay existing, which has a soothing and refreshing effect that help closing pores; the cool feeling too hits immediately, but lasts the whole time of application, which is 10 minutes. I know you can’t tell from the pictures, but the texture is quite thick.

🇮🇹 2° step – Pore original pack (30 gr/1.05oz). La parte “Fredda” è costituita da argilla bianca o Caolino, l’argilla più delicata che esista, dall’effetto lenitivo e rinfrescante che aiuta a minimizzare i pori; anche l’effetto fresco colpisce subito, ma rimane costante per tutto il tempo di posa, ovvero 10 minuti. So che non si capisce dalle foto, ma la consistenza è piuttosto densa.

🇬🇧 Post-usage impression: these products definitely deliver a refreshing and “clean” feeling and bright up the skin. My pores haven’t disappeared but looked smaller. I’ll keep using this set!

Review – Secret Key Gold Racoony Hydrogel Eye & Spot Patch 🐼 #1

As promised, today I’m reviewing the main “character” of the post 😂 I still haven’t got the chance to try the spot patches, as my skin is doing pretty fine overall, but I might review them in the future! Come promesso, oggi recensirò il “personaggio” principale del post 😂 non ancora avuto l’occasione di provare i patches rotondi, perché la mia pelle sta tutto sommato bene, ma potrei recensirli in futuro! Per favore, fatemi sapere se siete particolarmente interessati a leggere una recensione su di essi.

🇬🇧 As advised on the package, I apply these patches for up 30 minutes – which is basically the time it takes for them to dry up completely. I tried picking them with the supplied spatula the first time, but I later realized I’d do it better with my own fingers. As you can see from the picture above, they don’t have the usual “yang” shape of an eye patch – and I’m okay with this, because it makes it easier to adapt the patches to one’s own eye area; also, I like taking care of the whole area and not only of my super purple eye bags.

Talking about the serum, as you can see from the list below, there’s a big presence of hydrating ingredients such as aloe and camellia, as well as elasticizing and brightening ingredients such as collagen, royal jelly and gold. I can confirm that all three “powers” are visible from the first use! What I noticed during the first times using these patches is that they were a little slick – they wouldn’t stay still and a lot of serum would shed down my whole face. I don’t know what changed, but as I kept using them, this “excess” serum seemed to reduce. I’ve purchased this product on Italian K-beauty e-shop Baqueen.

🇮🇹 Come consigliato sulla confezione, applico queste patch fino a 30 minuti – che è fondamentalmente il tempo che ci vuole per asciugarsi completamente. La prima volta, ho provato a prenderle con la spatola in dotazione, ma poi ho capito che avrei fatto meglio [a prenderle] con le dita. Come potete vedere dall’immagine qui sopra, non hanno la solita forma a “yang” di una eye patch – e mi sta bene, perché rende più facile adattare le patch al proprio contorno occhi; inoltre, mi piace prendermi cura di tutta la zona e non solo delle mie occhiaie super viola.

Parlando del siero, come si può vedere dalla lista qui sotto, c’è una grande presenza di ingredienti idratanti come aloe e camelia, così come di ingredienti elasticizzanti e illuminanti come collagene, pappa reale ed oro. Posso confermare che tutti e tre i “poteri” sono visibili dal primo utilizzo! Quello che ho notato durante le prime volte con queste patch è che erano un po’ scivolosi – non rimanevano fermi e perdevano un sacco di siero che mi finiva su tutta la faccia. Non so cosa sia cambiato, ma continuando ad usarli, questo siero “in eccesso” è sembrato ridursi. Ho acquistato questo prodotto sul sito di bellezza coreana italiano Baqueen.
