Review – Koelf Ruby Bulgarian Rose Hydrogel Eye Patch 👁

🇬🇧 Hydrogel eye patches have a lot of advantages: they are made of a gel that can hold big amounts of liquids – in this case, they can hold a lot of serum – which adheres better than a cotton sheet mask, giving that second-skin feeling; they bring a cooling sensation to the treated area. In my opinion, hydrogel is the best material you can choose when it comes to eye patches, since they are supposed to deliver a quick and effective treatment. I love wearing them at the end of a long tiring day!

🇮🇹 Le patch per gli occhi in idrogel hanno una serie di vantaggi: sono fatte di un gel che riesce ad assorbire grandi quantità di liquidi – in questo caso, molto siero – che aderisce di più di una maschera in tessuto come se fosse una seconda pelle; danno una sensazione di freschezza nell’area da trattare. Secondo me, l’idrogel è il miglior materiale che si possa scegliere per delle patch occhi, visto che dovrebbero avere un effetto immediato. Adoro indossare alla fine di un giorno stancante!

🇬🇧 Today’s product is Koelf Ruby Bulgarian Rose Hydrogel Eye Patch, whose main ingredients are, as the name suggests, ruby powder and Dasmask Rose flower water. Other relevant ingredients are green tea and yuja (or yuzu) extracts, which are great for moisture and brighteness. Although these patches can be used to treat fine lines around the mouth area and on the forehead, I mainly use them to treat my puffy eyes and dark circles. They can be used daily, especially if you don’t already treat your eye area with other specific products – I do (check out My first age-preventing skincare routine – Part 2 🍵 / La mia prima routine anti età – Parte 2 🍵 for more information), so I use them only any other day.

The only con I noticed about these patches is that too much serum can make them slip down towards the cheekbones area instead of staying still on the eye area. However, that is not much of a problem – at least I can use the excess serum on my cheeks.

Altri ingredienti presenti sono l’estratto di tè verde e di yuja (o yuzu), ideali per idratare ed illuminare. Anche se queste patch possono essere usate per le rughe sulla zona labbra e sulla fronte, le uso principalmente per le mie borse sotto gli occhi e per le occhiaie. Possono essere usate ogni giorno, specialmente se non ci si prende già cura del contorno occhi con altri prodotti – io lo faccio, come potete vedere in My first age-preventing skincare routine – Part 2 🍵 / La mia prima routine anti età – Parte 2 🍵, perciò le uso un giorno sì e l’altro no.

L’unico difetto di queste patch che ho notato è che troppo siero può farle scivolare verso gli zigomi invece di tenerle ferme nella zona occhi. In ogni caso, questo non è un problema – almeno posso usare il siero in eccesso sulle guance.

🇮🇹 Ciao a tutti! Eccoci alla seconda parte della mia prima routine anti età in assoluto! Se vi siete persi la prima parte, vi prego di leggerla qui 🤭 se sapete già di cosa parlo e volete saperne di più, continuate a leggere!

🇬🇧 Step 3 – Moisturizer. As already mentioned in My first age-preventing skincare routine – Part 1 🍵 / La mia prima routine anti età – Parte 1 🍵, the moisturizing effect of The Chok Chok Watery Cream comes from one-year fermented green tea, which works more effectively than fresh green tea and it is used instead of distilled water (click on the link for more information about the benefits of green tea in skincare). Besides that, this cream contains lemon seed oil and rosewood oil, the former being a powerful antibacterial ingredient – great for acne – while the latter is soothing and promotes cell turnover. Talking about the texture of the cream, I appreciate it being halfway between a gel and a thick cream – so like, a thick gel? If that makes sense. I can also feel a thin layer of moisture that makes me caress my own face 👶🏼 and it actually lasts the whole day!

🇮🇹 Step 3 – Crema idratante. Come già detto in My first age-preventing skincare routine – Part 1 🍵 / La mia prima routine anti età – Parte 1 🍵, l’effetto nutriente de The Chok Chok Watery Cream deriva dal tè verde fermentato per un anno, più efficace del tè verde fresco e viene usato al posto dell’acqua distillata (cliccate sul link per maggiori informazioni sui benefici del tè verde nella cura della pelle). Oltre a questo, questa crema contiene olio di seme di limone e di palissandro; il primo è un potente ingrediente antibatterico – fantastico per l’acne – mentre l’ultimo è calmante e promuove la rigenerazione cellulare. Parlando della consistenza della crema, apprezzo il fatto che sia una via di mezzo tra un gel e una crema densa, tipo un gel denso? Se può definirsi così. Riesco a percepire una sottile barriera d’idratazione che mi fa venire voglia di accarezzarmi 👶🏼 e dura davvero tutto il giorno!

🇬🇧 Step 4 – Eye cream. Two essential ingredients in The Chok Chok Watery Eye Cream – besides our beloved fermented green tea – are Adenosine and Niacinamide. The former is a good soothing and skin-restoring agent, bringing proven anti-wrinkle benefits due to its ability to energize skin’s surface so it looks smoother and younger. The latter is very famous for its several benefits too: anti-aging – it stimulates the production of ceramides and fatty acids; antioxidant; balancing – given by the sebum-regulating and anti-inflammatory properties of Vitamin PP (contained in Niacinamide), which makes it one of the most used active ingredients in combating acne. I like this cream because it’s jelly, absorbs quickly and feels refreshing and comfortable the whole day. I squeeze one pearl-size amount per eye bag and pat gently until fully absorbed.

🇮🇹 Step 4 – Crema contorno occhi. Due ingredienti essenziali nella The Chok Chok Watery Eye Cream – oltre al nostro amato tè verde fermentato – sono l’Adenosina e la Niacinamide (o Nicotinamide). La prima è un buon agente calmante e stimolante della riproduzione cellulare, apportando provati benefici anti rughe data la sua capacità di energizzare la superficie della pelle in modo che sembri più liscia e più giovane. Anche la seconda è molto famosa per i suoi diversi benefici: anti-age – stimola la produzione di ceramidi e acidi grassi; antiossidante; riequilibrante data dalle proprietà seboregolatrici ed antinfiammatorie della Vitamina PP (contenuta nella Nicotinamide), che ne fa uno dei principi attivi più usati nel combattere l’acne. Ne prendo la quantità di una perla per occhiaia e la tampono delicatamente finché non si assorbe del tutto.

As promised, today I’m reviewing the main “character” of the post 😂 I still haven’t got the chance to try the spot patches, as my skin is doing pretty fine overall, but I might review them in the future! Come promesso, oggi recensirò il “personaggio” principale del post 😂 non ancora avuto l’occasione di provare i patches rotondi, perché la mia pelle sta tutto sommato bene, ma potrei recensirli in futuro! Per favore, fatemi sapere se siete particolarmente interessati a leggere una recensione su di essi.

🇬🇧 As advised on the package, I apply these patches for up 30 minutes – which is basically the time it takes for them to dry up completely. I tried picking them with the supplied spatula the first time, but I later realized I’d do it better with my own fingers. As you can see from the picture above, they don’t have the usual “yang” shape of an eye patch – and I’m okay with this, because it makes it easier to adapt the patches to one’s own eye area; also, I like taking care of the whole area and not only of my super purple eye bags.

Talking about the serum, as you can see from the list below, there’s a big presence of hydrating ingredients such as aloe and camellia, as well as elasticizing and brightening ingredients such as collagen, royal jelly and gold. I can confirm that all three “powers” are visible from the first use! What I noticed during the first times using these patches is that they were a little slick – they wouldn’t stay still and a lot of serum would shed down my whole face. I don’t know what changed, but as I kept using them, this “excess” serum seemed to reduce. I’ve purchased this product on Italian K-beauty e-shop Baqueen.

🇮🇹 Come consigliato sulla confezione, applico queste patch fino a 30 minuti – che è fondamentalmente il tempo che ci vuole per asciugarsi completamente. La prima volta, ho provato a prenderle con la spatola in dotazione, ma poi ho capito che avrei fatto meglio [a prenderle] con le dita. Come potete vedere dall’immagine qui sopra, non hanno la solita forma a “yang” di una eye patch – e mi sta bene, perché rende più facile adattare le patch al proprio contorno occhi; inoltre, mi piace prendermi cura di tutta la zona e non solo delle mie occhiaie super viola.

Parlando del siero, come si può vedere dalla lista qui sotto, c’è una grande presenza di ingredienti idratanti come aloe e camelia, così come di ingredienti elasticizzanti e illuminanti come collagene, pappa reale ed oro. Posso confermare che tutti e tre i “poteri” sono visibili dal primo utilizzo! Quello che ho notato durante le prime volte con queste patch è che erano un po’ scivolosi – non rimanevano fermi e perdevano un sacco di siero che mi finiva su tutta la faccia. Non so cosa sia cambiato, ma continuando ad usarli, questo siero “in eccesso” è sembrato ridursi. Ho acquistato questo prodotto sul sito di bellezza coreana italiano Baqueen.
