🇬🇧 A while ago I decided I needed to switch to more packaging-free beauty products. Some brands, such as Lush, have always tried hard to produce sustainable packagings, e.g. cups and bottles made of recycled plastic, and to promote a sustainable approach from their customers, like keeping at least 5 plastic cups or bottles and return them to the store in order to get a free mask. Last year Lush opened their first Naked Store in Milan, where they sell solid, packaging-free products: solid shampoos and conditioners, solid body scrubs and balms, bath bombs, solid soaps. The only way you can store them is in tins or cork-made boxes or just paper bags. Today I’m reviewing their naked body scrub The Rough With The Smooth.
🇮🇹 Un po’ di tempo fa ho deciso che mi sarei convertita a prodotti di bellezza non confezionati. Alcuni brand, come Lush, hanno sempre provato a produrre delle confezioni più sostenibili, per esempio coppe e bottiglie in plastica riciclata, e a sensibilizzare i propri clienti ad un approccio sostenibile, come conservare almeno 5 coppe o bottiglie da riportare in negozio in cambio di una maschera gratis. L’anno scorso Lush ha aperto il suo primo Naked Store a Milano, dove vendono prodotti solidi e senza confezione: shampoo e balsami solidi, scrub e balsami per il corpo solidi, bombe da bagno, saponi solidi. L’unico modo per conservarli è con scatoline di latta o sughero o semplicemente buste di carta. Oggi recensirò il loro scrub nudo per il corpo The Rough With The Smooth.
🇬🇧 This bar weights 130 gr/4.5 oz – quite heavy! – and that’s the only size you can buy. Its main active ingredients are granulated sugar and murumuru butter, while the main scented notes are given by black pepper oil, patchouli oil and vanilla essence. Granulated sugar is the scrubbing agent, while murumuru butter is the nourishing and hydrating one. As for the scents, black paper is energizing and enveloping, patchouli is relaxing and uplifting, vanilla is sweet and soothing. Overall I’d say it has a sweet spicy fragrance, which I live for especially in Autumn and Winter.
At the time when I took its picture, this bar has been used 5 times. I rub it onto my wet skin once I finish showering and wearing my bathrobe – because holding this bar with wet hands and inside the shower could make it crumble because of humidity. The scrub is quite gentle and the oils are not sticky, they get absorbed quite easily into the skin. My legs can get quite flaky – thank you ingrown hair 😓 – but this product is helping a lot! I’ll buy this bar again once I run out of it.
🇮🇹 Questo panetto pesa 130 gr/4.5 oz – molto pesante! – ed è l’unica taglia acquistabile. I suoi ingredienti principali sono lo zucchero granulato e il burro di murumuru, mentre le principali note olfattive sono date dall’olio di pepe nero, l’olio di patchouli e l’essenza di vaniglia. Lo zucchero granulato è l’agente esfoliante, mentre il burro di murumuru quello nutriente ed idratante. Per quanto riguarda i profumi, il pepe nero è energizzante ed avvolgente, il patchouli è rilassante e confortante, la vaniglia è dolce e calmante. In generale direi che ha un profumo dolce e speziato, che mi fa impazzire specialmente in autunno ed inverno.
Quando ho fatto questa foto, il panetto era stato usato 5 volte. Lo strofino sulla pelle umida una volta finita la doccia e indossato l’accappatoio, perché tenerla con le mani umide dentro la doccia la farebbe sgretolare a causa dell’umidità. Lo scrub è abbastanza delicato e gli olii non sono appiccicosi, vengono assorbiti dalla pelle abbastanza facilmente. Le mie gambe diventano abbastanza ruvide – grazie peli incarniti 😓 – ma questo prodotto sta aiutando molto! Comprerò questo panetto ancora, quando lo finirò.
